Hymenoptera is the order of all of those ant, wasp, bee looking bugs, including the weirder ones like wood wasps and sawflies. Then, inside of this order there is the superfamily Vespoidea. Both ants and velvet ants are in this subfamily.

This cute little moth was resting in our bathroom in Sao Paulo.
It is not a very usual moth to find over there, and I never knew much about it until last night when I was cropping this picture and decided to look it up.
My mother calls it “mariposa bundinha de pincel”, little brush butt [...]
I decided to make my pictures available to my friends, if only to give them nightmares.
So here they are.
But who knows, you might dream of tasty strawberry beetles that won’t really kill you if you eat them.
