Little black dress

Some species of spiders can vary a lot in coloration from one individual to another.
That is the case for the Nephilengys cruentata, which in this picture is almost entirely black, but in a picture I posted here before, can be seen having a good deal of yellow.
The black variation reminds me a lot of the black widow. It would be impossible to mistake them in real life though, as the N. cruentata is about 2 or 3 inches in diameter, while the black widow is really tiny.
I like this picture because it shows the web tunnel I described in my previous post about the N. cruentata. There are also little exuvium (old exoskeletons from little spiders that molted) stuck to the web.
